GINA FINALISES PHASE 2

OF COLCHESTER GARRISON ROOF WELDING

It is perhaps unusual to see a female face on-site in an industry dominated by male workers, but site services manager Gina Gough has been Ôon boardÕ with aluminium welding and fabrication specialists, M. R. Site Services for over a decade.

Gina GoughÕs latest project to complete has been phase 2 of the armyÕs £550 million new build Colchester Garrison in Essex. Following the specialist welding of the pitched roofs of 28 garrison buildings in phase 1, M.R. Site Services was first choice for contractors Prater Ltd on phase 2 on account of its excellent work and professional approach and being on time and on budget.

As in phase 1, M.R. Site Services fabricated, on site, 6000 cranked sheets on the Kalzip aluminium roofing system for Prater Ltd for 13 of the garrison buildings, incorporating 2600 linear metres of welding.

Gavin Swanson, PraterÕs senior project manager at Colchester Garrison commented, ÒWe completed twice the amount of work in the same time on phase 2 of this project and M.R. Site Services kept pace all the time. I am delighted with the quality and professionalism that they provide in this specialised field and I would have no hesitation in using the company again.Ó

M.R. Site Services also completed site welding of the penetrations and upstands to rooflights on the 13 buildings for Prater Ltd. The company also worked with two other contractors, Thompson Roofing and T.R. Freeman, performing specialist aluminium welding of 200 rooflights, soakers, valleys, vent pipes, and other penetrations, in all around 500 soakers.
