QUANTUM WALKWAY SYSTEM

EXCELS AT COLLEGE

M.R. Site Services has just installed one of its Quantum Walkway Systems at Pendle Vale College to provide a safe maintenance route across the buildingÕs challenging roofline.

The state-of-the-art college is part of the Burnley regionÕs Building Schools for the Future programme. Built on a hill, it has four different levels and 19 roofs that span out like radial arms from the main roof.

It was the main roof that ultimately won the project for M.R. Site Services with its challenging Ôski-slopeÕ roof pitch and numerous roof lights.
Alan Clayton, project manager for building envelope specialists Lakesmere explained, ÒWe wanted a company we were confident could perform well because it was a tricky job with a fast lead time. Their competitive price was a contributing factor, but the major reason for choosing M.R. Site Services was its technical back-up service which we know from previous experience is excellent.Ó

A total of 578 linear metres of Quantum Walkway run along the gutter lines of all the roofs for maintenance. They incorporate handrails, steps and anti-slip treads for added safety.

The Quantum Walkway is a high quality system designed and fabricated to BS 5395 and BS 6399 in 6082-T6 aluminium. On site, the Quantum Walkway is fitted to the roof sheets using stainless steel screws and purpose-made brackets.
